Hearts for Heroes

Hearts for Heroes (H4HUS) provides animal assisted therapy programs free of charge to active duty and military veterans. Our equine programs maintain the EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) ethical standards and practices.

All programs are supervised by Clinical licensed mental health practitioners for those seeking assistance with symptoms of PTSD, TBI or general stress reduction. We provide therapeutic riding and driving programs. In addition we procure dogs from kill shelters in NC and train them to be emotional support dogs to be adopted by veterans.

All dogs are trained to the AKC canine good citizen test and if the veteran wishes can also be trained to the higher Pet Partner standard to become therapy dogs.
